Mets Place Mauricio on IL, Call Up Brujan

The Mets made the moves Sunday, designating infielder Eric Wagaman for assignment to make room for Brujan on the 40-man roster. Mauricio suffered the injury Saturday when he dived into first base while beating out an infield single. djcc.club

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Mauricio could be out 6-8 weeks after getting a CT scan Monday. Brujan, 28, is a career .199 hitter who was acquired from Minnesota in January. Mendoza plans to use Bo Bichette and Brujan interchangeably at shortstop.
