Former Pirates' Skinner Dies at 94

Former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bob Skinner, a two-time World Series champion, has passed away at age 94 in San Diego.

Bob Skinner, who played 12 MLB seasons primarily with the Pirates, died at age 94 in San Diego. The cause of death was not released. Skinner was a two-time All-Star who hit .277 in his career and won World Series titles with Pittsburgh in 1960 and the St. Louis Cardinals in 1964.

After his playing career, Skinner managed the Philadelphia Phillies and served as a hitting coach, including for the 1979 World Series champion Pirates. Team owner Bob Nutting called Skinner 'an important part of one of the most beloved teams in our storied history.' truewildgame.com
